New 800MHz comes with the Wand lab

Prof. Josh Wand joins our department from the University of Pennsylvania as Chair of Biochemistry and Biophysics at TAMU. He brings with him our second 800MHz magnet outfitted with a 4-channel cryoprobe, a sample-jet, and a pack of  NMR-wielding lab members. We’re excited to see NUS, TROSY, modern isotopic labeling strategies and deuteration, and high-pressure NMR bring light to the next NMR frontier of large complexes and membrane proteins.

For Bruker pulse programs the first characters (usually 4, but at a maximum 6) specify the type of experiment, e.g. DEPT,COSY,NOESY etc.. Further properties of the pulse program are indicated by a two-character code, which is added to the name in alphabetical order. For 2D experiments the mode (absolute value, phase sensitive or echo-antischo) is always indicated. H- or X-decoupling is assumed to be default for heteronuclear experiments, but not for homonuclear ones… Read More →
